Relationships can be difficult to navigate. The everyday stresses brought on through work, parenting, and family can slowly erode the closeness couples once enjoyed. Add to that, affairs, health problems, and other serious issues, and couples may feel hurt, insecure, angry, or completely disconnected. It may feel as though connection cannot be repaired. Maybe you have tried, but communication ends in conflict, tension increases, and it begins to feel hopeless. It doesn’t have to be, and you don’t have to do this alone.
In my work with you, I will help create the safety needed for reconnection and repair. You and your partner will learn what is creating the distance and distress in your relationship and how to move through it together. We will work together to find new ways to communicate, handle conflict, and most importantly, feel safer and more connected with each other.
My work with couples combines Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and The Gottman Method, both attachment based styles created to help couples in all stages of relationship create more intimate bonds. EFT is an experiential therapy that builds attachment by creating safety and drawing on emotion. The Gottman Method focuses on effective communication and getting to know your partner in a more curious, intimate way to strengthen attachments.
“Connection is the energy that is created between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued—when they can give and receive without judgment.”
